Products within the scope of the Technical Regulations are subject to fire protection certification in the Russian Federation.

Amongst those products subject to a compulsory certification of fire protection are:

• Equipment for fire protection and fire brigades
• Selected substances and materials (insulation, many plastics, coverings, flooring, synthetic panels, roofing materials, amongst others)
• Selected building materials (building materials with fire protection functions, cable channels, synthetic building materials, e.g. window profiles, vents, amongst others) 
• Selected electro-technical products (insulated cables, heating cables, amongst others)

Testing and certification may only be performed by Russian bodies which have been specifically accredited for such.

As a result of the fire protection certification, the products can be classified according to the Russian inflammability and combustibility categories, which vary from those of the European Union.

DIN GOST TÜV provides services for obtaining the rife protection certification, including the handling of all the work and organization of the necessary audits.
